What Is a Resolution Lifetime? Signs You’re Living One According to the Akashic Records.

A Resolution Lifetime is a concept that comes through the Akashic Records. It refers to a lifetime where the soul is completing its incarnation cycle on Earth — what some call Earth School.

This doesn’t mean the soul has reached the end of its evolution. Quite the opposite. There are many schools of learning available to the soul beyond Earth, each offering different lessons, energies, and ways of growth.

It also doesn’t necessarily mean the soul immediately returns to Source Consciousness. I like to view resolution lifetimes as a kind of closing chapter: the soul is here to clean up residual karma, integrate lessons, and prepare for what comes next.

Between lifetimes, the soul has a choice. Even after completing its time in Earth School, a soul may decide to return — not to repeat old cycles, but to assist humanity and support the Earth’s ascension in a new way. Other souls may choose to continue their journey in different schools altogether. There are planets and dimensions that offer unique energetic environments for learning, and this is where the concept of Starseeds comes in — souls who have experienced lifetimes beyond Earth. These decisions are not made randomly. They are carefully considered alongside the soul’s Akashic guides before the next incarnation begins.

Understanding that you are in a resolution lifetime can be deeply supportive. It helps bring meaning to what you’ve already lived through. Resolution lifetimes are not easy incarnations, and many souls incarnated on Earth right now are in one.

I am personally in a resolution lifetime, and when this was revealed in my Akashic Records, it brought me a great sense of comfort. It helped me understand why my life has unfolded the way it did. Instead of seeing my experiences as isolated or unfair, I was able to view them from a bigger-picture perspective and focus on the lessons woven through complex and often traumatic situations.

That shift — from confusion to clarity — is one of the greatest gifts of understanding a resolution lifetime. What I’m sharing here is not just what I’ve learned through the Akashic Records, but what I’ve come to understand by living a resolution lifetime myself.

Common Experiences of a Resolution Lifetime

  1. They often experience very difficult childhoods. This is largely because souls in resolution lifetimes tend to incarnate into families that are not their soul families. From an Akashic perspective, relationships are one of the primary ways karma is neutralized, so these souls often choose to enter family systems where there are karmic ties.

Karmic connections are considered disempowering soul contracts — relationships where unresolved lessons still exist. Because of this, many people in resolution lifetimes grow up feeling different, unseen, or misunderstood within their family. It’s common for them to feel like the black sheep or even become the family scapegoat, which can create deep feelings of isolation and not belonging.

While this dynamic serves the soul’s growth from a higher perspective, it rarely feels positive from within the incarnation. On a human level, these experiences can be painful, confusing, and deeply wounding.

  2. They often move through a “hermit” period in life. This phase is usually initiated by a spiritual awakening and marks the beginning of the healer’s journey. During this time, there is a strong pull toward solitude — a need to step back, reflect, and turn inward. Deep introspection becomes necessary.

This is also a period when many external structures begin to fall away. Relationships may end, careers may no longer feel aligned, and life can feel as though it’s unraveling. Many people refer to this phase as a Dark Night of the Soul, and for some, it lasts far longer than expected — sometimes years.

What’s important to understand is that during this time, these souls are not only healing wounds from their current life. They are also tending to past-life and ancestral patterns, clearing layers that have carried forward across incarnations. Although this period can feel lonely and destabilizing, it is a powerful time of reorganization, integration, and deep soul healing.

  3. Part of their dharma involves moving through repeated difficult relationships. You may know someone — or recognize yourself — as the person who seems to move from one challenging relationship to the next. This pattern can feel incredibly lonely and discouraging, especially when it appears that others are finding ease and stability in their connections.

From an Akashic perspective, these patterns don’t arise randomly. Relationships are one of the most powerful ways karma is neutralized. In resolution lifetimes, the soul is often working through unresolved relational themes carried across many incarnations on Earth. Rather than repeating the same relationship, the soul is meeting different expressions of the same lesson — again and again — until it is fully integrated.

This does not mean that souls in resolution lifetimes are destined only for painful relationships. There is a point in the journey where the wounded healer phase begins to soften and come to completion. As this happens, karmic relationships no longer hold the same charge, and the soul becomes available for deeper, more nourishing connections.

Over time, these souls can and do find relationships with members of their soul family — connections rooted in resonance rather than karma. While karmic relationships may still appear from time to time, they no longer define the soul’s path.

The true purpose of these experiences is not suffering, but learning — learning the lessons each karmic relationship has to offer so the soul can move forward free of old patterns and into a new way of relating.

  4. They often feel “behind” in life — even when they’re deeply aligned. Most souls carry a natural desire to feel purposeful and of service. For those in resolution lifetimes, however, there can be a persistent feeling of being behind schedule — as though everyone else has found their footing while they are still trying to make sense of their path.

After the hermit phase, many move from a preference for solitude into a deeper feeling of aloneness. While this can feel uncomfortable, it’s actually an important signal. This sense of aloneness often arises when the soul is ready to return to community and begin finding its true people.

Alongside this, there is often a quiet urgency — a feeling that there is something meaningful they are here to do, even if they can’t fully see it yet. This was a significant sign for me personally, especially when that inner knowing existed alongside continued encounters with karmic relationships.

It’s important to remember: you are not behind. This feeling is not a failure or a delay; it’s a transition point. The ego can easily turn this phase into self-judgment, but alignment cannot be rushed. It’s okay to move slowly, to continue your healing, and to trust that your sense of purpose will come into focus in its own time.

Sometimes, slowing down is the work.

  5. They eventually step into service. After years of challenge and healing, there comes a point where the soul in a resolution lifetime begins to align with its purpose. Often, they are called to help others in the very areas where they once struggled.

Those who had their power taken away may become guides for empowerment. Those who felt unseen may help others feel recognized and supported.

This is also when soul family begins to appear — relationships rooted in mutual respect, resonance, and encouragement. Service becomes less about sacrifice and more about shared purpose.

Summary

Understanding a resolution lifetime can bring clarity, compassion, and a sense of meaning to experiences that once felt confusing or isolating. It helps you to no longer view your life and think to yourself, I made a mistake or what did I sign up for for this life, but as a soul-led process of integration, healing, and preparation for what comes next.

For those who feel called to explore this more deeply, Akashic Records readings and clearings can offer insight into the themes your soul is working with in this lifetime. They can also support the healing and release of ancestral, past-life, and current-life patterns — especially for those moving through the hermit phase and doing deep inner work.

Sometimes, having that higher-level perspective is all it takes to soften the journey and remember that you are not alone in it.
