What is a Soul Retrieval?

All of us experience some kind of Trauma. Whether its little t or big T trauma. In those moments the soul will often decide that it's not safe to be in the body and it will exist. During that time when the soul leaves the body a piece of it may break off, leaving that fragment in that moment spiritually. That fragment will then live in that loop of that event.
This is what some healers and mystics call, "The Loop".
Soul Retrieval has been practiced by shamans for centuries. They consider that these lost fragments (inner child, aspects of self) get "stuck" in energetic loops, repeating past traumas or manifesting as self-sabotage, chronic fear, or feeling perpetually stuck in life. Healing involves the shaman journeying to retrieve these parts and reintegrate them, closing the loop.
From a Jugian (Carl Jung) perspective: this is called the "loss of soul" leading the individual to relinquish awareness of what is actually true. Leading to depression and feeling unable to face life.
The Gnostic perspective says: fragments can become "lost" in illusion. The ultimate spiritual path (return to the Creator) involves the conscious reunion and integration of these aspects, ending the loop of separate experience.
Christian Mysticism offers: Concepts like the "brokenhearted" (Hebrew: shever lev) are metaphorically linked to soul fragmentation. Healing involves divine intervention to gather these pieces, as seen in ministries focused on deliverance and restoration from inner wounds.
We can see that across many different cultures and beliefs that one thing is shared. There is a moment for a person when the soul breaks off and it stuck in the limiting perspective of that moment. That perspective the fragment is stuck in causes us in the present to operate under the influence that this "perspective" is still "true".
The Akashic Perspective of Soul Fragmentation and Retrieval:
Soul fragmentation happens when an individual experiences and emotionally challenging moment. This is can range from scary moments, war, neglect, surgeries, abuse, being overpowered, continuous exposure to chaotic environments. This isn't what society deems traumatic. It is an individual experience of how a person emotionally responds to a moment/moments.
The soul will exit out of the body and a piece will break off, staying in that moment continuously experiencing the same moment over and over again. The rest of the soul will return to our Light Grid which is held together by the body.

As we continue with our lives, we often believe that time heals all wounds but this isn't true. We simply slip further and further away from the fragment that is broke off and the emotion the fragment is feeling.
Our light grids (which is made up of our chakras, subtle bodies, aura, and physical body) changes over time. As it's suppose to. We learn more, experience more and our awareness increases over time changing the energy of our light grid. If you are on your spiritual journey the whole process of "Doing the work" is to strengthen and expand our light grids to hold more of our higher self in this incarnation.
When we decide to engage in a soul retrieval we are spiritually going back to that moment in time, to that event to retrieve that fragment to integrate it back into our light grid closing the gap. After this we still need to heal and help the fragment integrate into our light grid. This is because the fragment only knows the energy of our light grid that we had at the time it broke off. Now we have a new light grid energy that our fragment has to adjust to.
What if the Soul Fragment doesn't want to return?
This is actually a common occurrence in soul retrievals and it doesn't mean that the process was not successful. Just like we have free will the fragment has free will also. It's still a part of you and has all the same functions as a soul. The key for healers is that when we guide a person back to that moment, we need to actually go into that moment and discover what that part of us needed that we didn't receive in the past. Then actually give that part of us what they need to feel safe and loved. So even if the fragment chooses to stay behind, we have shifted the emotional and energetic imprint of the past. This also shifts the perspective and story that part of us has about life/ourselves at that moment. This will now positively shift our present and future.
Why would the fragment choose to stay behind?
Sometimes we have outgrown past versions of ourselves. While it's still important to heal that version of us, it's not required to have that fragment with us to move forward. Usually we have some kind of attachment to this younger version of us. We feel obligated to protect them so they won't be hurt again. But if we can shift the energetic imprint of the moment, the goal of the healing was successful. Sometimes the lesson for you was taught by this fragment and when the lesson is learned, it's no longer needed for your growth moving forward. Those fragments may still have beliefs that we have outgrown.
Another reason is, you healed a particular aspect of that moment but there maybe other lessons to learn that will require another soul retrieval session to go back and look at the moment again and discover another part of the story. We are complex beings and in a single moment have multiple beliefs and emotions happening at 1 time.
The fragment may still not trust the present you. Remember now you have a new energy light grid around you. So this is like the fragment who has been accustomed to a particular energy even it was not "healthy", is having to re-enter into a foreign energy. So establishing trust and working with this version of you for a time can be helpful. This can be part of inner child work.
The Fragment Still Believes It’s Protecting You. Some fragments stay separated because they were created as protectors during trauma. This is common when the fragment formed during abuse, betrayal, abandonment, or shock trauma.
The Fragment Is Waiting for a Future Initiation. Some fragments are key holders. They can hold a spiritual gift, a psychic ability, a leadership energy. They come back when a certain timeline activates for you and you step into a new soul mission. This is really common for healers and intuitives where your soul fragment became one of your guides and that moment of trauma was chosen carefully by your soul so the fragmentation would happen for you to receive your guide. Those guides then activate your gift or energy for the next phase of your life at the right moment.
Tips on how to help your Soul Fragment integrate.
If you do a soul retrieval and the fragment does choose to stay with you, integration is key. The work doesn't end with the retrieval. This is an invitation to do the inner work.
Start a dialogue with them. This may include sitting down maybe 1 time a week to check in with this version of you. Saying hello, listening to how they are feeling, doing shadow work with this part of you to discover what beliefs they are holding, or asking them what they need to feel safe and loved in that moment.
Cultivate grounding practices daily. Grounding isn't talked about enough in the new age spirituality community, but it's key. Helping this fragment through your bodies nervous system will help them to feel safe and supported. These don't have to be complex practices either. It can look like dancing, movement, sipping a hot beverage mindfully, walking barefoot, drawing/painting, doing something fun you used to like at that age, or using your hands like gardening, sensory toys, or playing with play dough.
Subtle small changes of habits. This especially rings true if you tend to be very critical of yourself. Think of this way. Whatever is happening within you now that fragment will experience it too. So if you are speaking harshly to yourself that fragment is hearing it also. So speaking to yourself compassionately and re parenting this version of you.
Feel the emotions that come up. When soul retrievals happen we release the energy that the fragment was experiencing. So the fragment may have feelings that they didn't get to express and explore and it may come up for you as "feeling the emotion." Allow yourself to in safe spaces. Let yourself cry, punch the pillow, scream into a pillow, or if fear comes up, hug yourself and remind that version of you just how brave you are and all you have overcome. This does 2 things. It resets the nervous system and it is a continuation of releasing the emotions from that traumatic moment.
Soul retrievals can be powerful healing methods. They can be done in Akashic Record healing sessions or Divine Feminine Reiki Sessions. They can also be done by Shamans or some therapists. They are beautiful healings that can aid with releasing trauma, negative patterns, if you feel stuck or disconnected, seeking clarity, or deepening your spiritual journey.
